Approach to Therapy

Amanda Bradshaw is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with over 10 years of experience working with children, adults, families, and couples across a wide range of clinical settings. She brings a thoughtful, evidence-based approach to her work, integrating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) to effectively treat anxiety and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD).

Her approach is collaborative and supportive, helping clients better understand their experiences while building practical tools to manage symptoms and create meaningful, lasting change.

Areas of Expertise

Amanda has extensive experience in acute care settings, with a strong background in crisis assessment and intervention. She has received specialized training through the Trauma Center at Justice Resource Institute and is skilled in assessing and treating trauma-related disorders.

She also has a particular focus on perinatal and postpartum mental health, supporting individuals navigating pregnancy, new motherhood, and the emotional challenges that can arise during this time.

Perinatal & Postpartum Focus

Amanda is especially passionate about working with individuals experiencing postpartum challenges, as well as those navigating infertility, neonatal loss, and birth trauma. She provides a compassionate and supportive space for mothers and families adjusting to the complexities of these experiences.

Her work helps clients process grief, build resilience, and move toward healing with a greater sense of stability and support.

Integrative Approach

In addition to evidence-based therapies, Amanda incorporates holistic interventions into her work, including mindfulness, meditation, and sensory-based techniques. These approaches support emotional regulation, reduce stress, and promote overall balance and well-being.

Background & Education

Amanda earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Quinnipiac University and her Master’s degree in Agency Counseling from Rhode Island College. She went on to complete her Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study (CAGS) in Advanced Counseling.
